5 Tips to Make Sure You Never Lose Your Keys Again!

Losing your keys can be a stressful experience… and no matter how immune you think you are to this stressful experience, one day or another, it’s bound to happen to you too. Well, you can avoid this from ever happening, if you consciously take precautionary measures and make sure you never lose your keys in the first place!

Even if you do take a couple of precautionary measures here and there, it might be a good idea to amp that up with a few more, fool-proof ideas! In this post, we’re going to be going over 5 of our top tips that will ensure that you always have access to your keys!

  1. Remember to keep them on you

This one is pretty basic, yes, but we can’t move over to the other tips without covering this one first, can we? The first thing you should do when it comes to keys is remembering to keep them on you. Get into a habit of checking for your keys when you’re leaving the house, entering your office, and leaving! A periodic check of where your keys are will ensure that you always have them on you!

  1. Lock the doors from the outside

One of the best ways to make sure you don’t lock yourself out without your keys is by always locking the door from the outside with the keys. Even though it’s more convenient to just lock the door from the inside and close it, it’s a better idea to always lock the door with the keys so you’re 100% sure that you have your keys on you at all times! Plus, that way, even if you do lose your keys, you’ll know it wasn’t in the house!
  2. Designate a key spot

This one might seem like a no-brainer, but a lot of people think that just because they’re used to leaving their keys on a table all the time, they’re never going to lose them, but it’s pretty common to lose your keys in your own home! It happens to people all around the world, all the time! A great way to stop that from happening is by designating a key spot and making sure that you always put your keys in that spot when you come home! This “spot” can be a key hanger, or a key tray in your entryway! Even though it’s going to take a while before you really get the hang of it and make it a habit to leave your keys in one spot, you’ll eventually get it and won’t be losing your keys as easily!
  3. Give a spare to someone you trust

Even if you have a designated key spot inside the home, it won’t do much for you when you’re outside. If you lose your keys outside, you’ll still be stuck out of your home, with no way in! Unless you have access to a spare key. Leaving a spare key hidden outside your home is a security risk, and it’s a much better idea to leave them with someone you trust. If you don’t already have a spare key, contact locksmith Birmingham or a recommended locksmith in your general area to give you a spare key so you never lose access to them again!
  4. Get a tracker!

Finally, thanks to advancements in technology. There are now trackers like the Samsung or Apple trackers that just hook onto your keys and connect with your phone. Using these trackers, you can easily keep track of where your keys are, and even if you lose them, you can just use the app the tracker comes with and just track your keys to the location they’re at! There’s usually a “ring” option too so if you’ve lost them close by, it’s an instant way to find your keys without even trying too hard!
